In today’s Barna Highlight, we’re sharing another bite-sized finding you can use to become a more informed leader.

Modern teens tend to live very tech-centered lives, and it would be easy to assume that orientation would impact the way they engage with the Bible. But Barna data shows that’s usually not the case.

"For now, despite being in a digitally native generation, U.S. Christian teens prefer to use the Bible in print (54%), far ahead of other mediums (17% smartphone or tablet app, 10% online)."

This finding comes from The Open Generation: United Statesa country report featuring U.S. specific data on Gen Z teens and young adults. If you want to better understand teenagers in the U.S., we encourage you to pick up a copy.

We also invite you to join us for a free webcast called Why There’s Hope for the Open Generation and the Church. Hosted by World Vision, alongside Barna, Global Leadership Network and Alpha, this event will give you the chance to hear from Gen Z themselves, along with pastors and leaders, on how to engage today’s generation and make an impact on those to come.

It’s happening Thursday, February 23rd at 9:00am PST.

The Open Generation series was created alongside Christian organizations—including Alpha, Biblica, World Vision, Christian Vision, Bible Study Fellowship, Christ in Youth and the Association of Christian Schools International. We’re thankful for their partnership and their commitment to the mission of understanding, reaching and discipling today’s youth.

We hope this Barna Highlight will help you lead more intentionally in your context.
